Blogmas: Christmas Jumpers For Christmas Jumper Day 2021

I’m getting this one in pretty early, mainly because they just sell out so quick! The official National Christmas jumper day this year is Friday 10th December, and as always is run by Save the Children. Obviously many of us wear our Christmas jumpers for all sorts of occasions in the run up to Christmas anyway, so to help you out here’s where you can get yours from this year.

The charity bring the festive jumper cheer every year, and it’s going to be bigger than ever this year after a rather subdued affair last year. Schools, offices, groups, individuals- anyone can take part and the idea is you wear your Christmas jumper and donate £2 for doing so to the charity to help children at Christmas.

Wallis Christmas Jumpers

I always enjoy the Wallis range of festive jumpers, as they’re good quality and a bit different. My cousin is also the knitwear designer so I love to support and her designs are beaut. My red nose reindeer kissing jumper last year was my favourite and it’s available again this year for £21, as well as many other designs. I really like the leaping reindeer, the gold sequin reindeer and the trailing leaf embellished white jumper too.

Tu at Sainsburys

The first Christmas jumper I bought this year was from Sainsburys, a stripy one covered in candy canes and baubles. I think Sainsburys have one of the best collections, I love the Scotty dogs, the sequin trees and the robins. They have jumpers and t shirts for men, women and kids and they’re affordable.

Great work Sainsburys, shop them here.

Next Family Christmas Jumpers

Next are a good shout if you’re wanting the whole family to be matchy matchy! They have some very traditional designs, but the matching ones are my favourite. I can picture the Christmas family photos now.

George at Asda

I got an Asda jumper last year and I’ve got to admit the collection was much better then, I’m not as much of a fan of their offering this year. There are more sweatshirts than knitted jumpers, but they do have a big collection so there might be something you like. I’d go for the gingerbread men one but have to be honest and say they’ve not really done it for me this year.

ASOS

The mens Christmas jumpers from ASOS are better than the womens collection, but some of them can only be described as an absolute travesty. ‘Wake me up before you Ho Ho!’ or even ‘Bite me’. No – not what Christmas is about sorry. The occasional patterned ones are wintery and look cosy but overall I’m not a fan.

H&M Jumpers & Knitwear

H&M don’t have a huge collection, there’s only about four or five but they look so cosy. Really love the jacquard-knit jumpers I think they’re gorgeous. What they lack in Christmas jumpers they make up for in the rest of their knitwear this year I’m very much enjoying it.

New Look

From New Look I love the animal print bauble jumpers and the sausage dogs. If you feel like you can make flamingos Christmassy they have a couple with flamingos on, the rest are all pretty unrelated animals or ‘Christmas kisses’ style.

Matalan

Matalan are also quite underwhelming, but they are more affordable than most other places. I like the cream jumper with the trees on and the penguins are quite cute too.

Boo Hoo

Can’t really believe I’m saying this but Boo Hoo actually have a better selection than a lot of other places. There is the occasional tragedy, but I like the black and white reindeer and snowflakes, and the reindeer bobble jumper. They also do the ‘filthy animals’ jumper which people always like.

So considering we’re in for a more normal Christmas this year I’m not totally blown away by what’s out there. Maybe it’s due to supply issues still affecting places, but Wallis and Sainsburys are by far my favourites.

The main thing for Christmas jumper day 2021 though is taking part and donating whatever you can to the Save the Children cause. If you’re making a big group thing of it don’t forget to sign up on the save the children website.
