Dog Friendly Newcastle

10 Dog Friendly Hotels In Newcastle

Newcastle is a very dog friendly city, with more and more places opening their doors and having dedicated areas for dogs in pubs, cafes and restaurants. If you’re visiting Newcastle for a city break, you don’t need to leave your dog behind, they are part of the family after all. Here’s ten dog friendly hotels in Newcastle city centre.

Dog Friendly Hotels In Newcastle

These dog friendly hotels in Newcastle are all in the city centre, but there are still plenty of places to walk your dog nearby. The quayside is a great place for dogs, and there are a number of parks such as Leazes, Exhibition Park and of course the town moor. Jesmond Dene isn’t far away either. This list covers the dog friendly hotels, as well as additional information such as extra cleaning charges, and details of how to book.

Being hotels, most of these have the across the board rule of not allowing pets to be left in the hotel room alone, so if that is something you’d need to do then a self catered stay may be a better option. There are some exceptions which are also highlighted below.

Newcastle Malmaison

The Malmaison on Newcastle Quayside allows dogs to stay with you in your room, they just ask that you notify them at the point of booking directly with the hotel. There is a £20 charge per night for this.

Although dogs are allowed to stay with you, they aren’t allowed in any of the food or bar areas, so you wouldn’t be able to eat in the hotel unless you have notified reception that you dog is in the room alone, and has a DND sign on the door. You are also required to leave your phone number with them in case they need to contact you.

If you are planning on spending time in your room, or going places where you can take them with you then the Malmaison is a great choice of hotel with a lovely view. Right on the quayside means you can walk them right along, there is no traffic, and there are bins all the way along. There are plenty of dog friendly bars, pubs and restaurants along the quayside too.

Book your stay at Newcastle Malmaison here.

Owned by the same company, Hotel Du Vin Newcastle’s dog policy is the same as above for the Malmaison. Hotel Du Vin is also just off the quayside so has the same benefits location wise, but it is slightly closer to the Ouseburn, which is a great area to walk your dog.

Why not do the Ouseburn pub crawl and take your dog along, all the pubs are dog friendly!
