Wear sunglasses and apply face sunscreen daily
Even if you follow all of the other steps here, if you aren’t properly protecting your skin from the skin, the damage could very well be done and make it hard to reverse. So when you are outside, wear sunglasses and put on face sunscreen daily. And don’t forget to reapply your sunscreen! You can also use a sun hat for extra protection for your skin, hair and eyes.
Use nourishing/hydrating masks
Nourishing and hydrating masks help replenish the skin with essential moisture and help boost the appearance of your skin. When the skin is dry it can make any fine lines and wrinkles be more pronounced, and when the skin is properly hydrated it can make the skin more plump. For an effective mask with natural and safe ingredients, try the Blue Lagoon algae mask that has a lifting and smoothing effect.
Use retinoids or retinol
Retinoids and retinols help to boost the production of collagen, which is essential for the elasticity and appearance of your skin. It increases cell turnover and help to reduce age spots. When incorporating either retinoid or retinols into your skincare routine, it is essential that you slowly increase the intensity of the product. Otherwise it can too intense for your skin and cause increased sensitivity.
Live a healthy lifestyle: eat well and exercise regularly
What you put into your body and how you take care of it directly impact your skin and aging process. Whole foods, particularly those with lots of antioxidants, particularly are known for their incredible benefits, especially around aging. There are even certain foods such as red bell pepper, blueberries, spinach, and nuts that are known for their anti-aging properties.
Drink a lot of water
We all have heard how critical it is to drink eight 8oz glasses of water a day, but this is a critical tip for a reason! Your body’s temperature regulation changes as you get older, and drinking water helps to balance and support this. As you age you are more at risk for dehydration, and this risk goes up the more caffeine and alcohol that you have. So be sure to drink lots of water and you will see the difference in your skin!
