ad| Wait til I tell you about this, this is how I began my weekend last weekend after being on the go so much, what an absolute treat.

Scarlett runs @theheadspawhitleybay from her home studio and as well as practicing the art of Japanese Head Spa techniques she’s also an experienced women’s health reflexologist. The end result is a very unique head spa experience that does absolute wonders for your scalp, hair health and mental well-being. 🌿💫 A session with her for one of her treatment experiences is a total relaxing, reset, you feel like you’re almost literally floating in a bubble for an hour or so 🫧

There are 5 treatment sessions to choose from, starting with the mini head escape for an hour at £75, and going right up to the head to toe spa for two hours at £150.

I had the head escape for an hour and 15mins (£90), and it was incredible. This included scalp analysis and a chat about my hair 💬 I’ve recently changed hairdressers to try help improve the quality of my hair and fix a few issues I wasn’t happy with, and Scarlett tailored the experience to make sure it wouldn’t interfere with that

I had a luxurious scalp oil treatment, exfoliation & cleanse, rainfall water therapy experience which is UNREAL the sound is so relaxing, a head massage and mask and herbal tea to finish off the experience. 🧖‍♀️☕

All the products used are natural, paraben and sulphate free and combined with all the techniques the benefits include:

🫧 A deep cleanse - removes buildup of oil, dead skin cells and product residue for a healthy scalp. A posh wash basically!

💁🏻‍♀️Stimulates circulation: boosts blood flow to hair follicles encouraging stronger healthier hair growth. Yes pls.

🌿 The rosemary treatment helps deeply moisturise.

💆🏻‍♀️ Relieves tension - can 100% confirm this is true.

📅 A gorgeous experience I’ll be booking again, although she does have a waitlist as she’s booked until May!

The Rooftops Matchday Hospitality with Fenwick & NUFC 🖤🤍💚

ad| It’s been one of the best weeks in Newcastle United @nufc history this week, rounded off yesterday with a derby win for @newcastleunitedwomen 🏆

I was at St James’ Park yesterday for the match, where I got to experience one of the newer hospitality suites - ‘The Rooftops by @fenwickofficial

The Rooftops is at the Gallowgate end with a private reception that sends you up in the lift to the suite, which is a beautiful area with seating around a central bar. Very Fenwick! Your day will include:

🍾 Champagne on arrival
🧥 a staffed cloakroom
🍽️ a designated table for you and your party where you can pre order wine which will be waiting for you
📓 a match day programme
⚽️ Premium padded seats in the Gallowgate west corner

Now the really good bit:
🍸 an all inclusive bar, serving champagne, wine and cocktails/mocktails including some match day specials such as ‘Wingwoman’ ‘Derby Delight’ and
🥣 A variety of small plates pre-match, from a seasonal selection
🍷 Half-time refreshments that you pre order so they’re waiting for you
🥂Post-match drinks to enjoy with the DJ, hopefully you’re celebrating a win

It is a fabulous suite to enjoy the match especially if it’s for an occasion and you want an experience beyond the typical match day, Fenwick have definitely put their stamp on it ✨

This was my first time at a women’s game despite over 30 years of coming here to support the Newcastle United men, and playing football as a girl - so it was definitely time to rectify that and I loved the whole experience. A 1-0 win to beat Sunderland howay the lasses 🖤🤍

For normal match days at The Rooftops hospitality, prices start at £600 and are bookable on site.

ad| @dakotahotel_ncl is stunning! I think it’s going to be very popular. Here’s my first impressions…

🛎️ Check in was at 3pm, staff are on it, from the doormen to receptionists and bar staff everyone speaks - what else from Geordie hospitality

🛌 As much as I love some of the other hotels in Newcastle, I’m coming off the fence to say it surpasses any other hotel room I’ve stayed in. It’s modern luxury with a lot of little details that I feel some places have stripped back a bit. A huge sink into bed, eye masks, plugs by the bed, black out curtains, seating area, a huge desk and dressing table, fridge, coffee and water, TV, free wifi you don’t have to sign up for, wardrobe space…I could go on. It has a very luxurious feel to it. 10/10

🛁 The bathroom is equally as good, a bath and separate walk in double shower, fluffy towels and Molton Brown toiletries

🍸 The fabulous bar - I loved the bar space it’s very elegant with a lot of seating that still felt quite intimate. Some small Parisian style tables for two, booths for bigger groups. lounge style seating as well as high tables and communal bar tables. I think I tried every cocktail and the spicy margs were the winner for me. The barman asked spicy preferences which is always a good sign 🌶️ a cracking wine list too

🥩 The grill bistro restaurant. I had the steak which was really good. But I will be honest I thought my frito misto starter was on the small side and a bit bland, as were the salt and pepper fries. The tomato bread they bring is phenomenal and the service was great.

📍 location on the quayside is perfect, highly recommend getting up early for a sunrise, some of the rooms have that unbeatable view up the river

🍳 I really enjoyed breakfast, one of the best bits of a hotel stay. They have a continental buffet to help yourself to and a hot breakfast to order. No complaints at all with the food here.

I’d absolutely stay again, I’d also gift stays to others as well.

Priory Press have opened in Newcastle 🍋

They’ve done so well in Tynemouth it’s great to see they’ve been able to branch out in Toon, and it’s the same but different!

Still the same fabulous menu of smoothies, juices, shakes, coffees, açai bowls and pressed sandwiches, but in their new spot on Nelson Street.

It had a bit more industrial feel to the cafe compared to the airy coastal location so it fits in the city centre perfectly I think they’re going to do amazing up there.
