Carruthers & Kent are a wine and bottle shop in Gosforth, and they pair wines with cheeses, chutneys and other local deli foods. They also offer gift and hamper services that feature many of these products. As well as wine cases of 1, 2, 3 or 6 bottles that they will box and gift wrap up for you, they do a range of bigger gift hampers that start from £35.
These can either be bought in store or online, and you can choose from pre made hampers or build your own. The French Quarter
The French Quarter may be a restaurant in Newcastle in one of the railway arches on Westgate Road, but their online and in restaurant market is filled with French products that are great as a hamper. They also do a pre made hamper selection or you can build your own.
The French products include olives, cheeses, wines, chutneys, charcuteries, pates, coffee and much more. Their full wine and champagne list can be shopped and included too. There really is an overwhelming number of products on their online store and having had one of their hampers on a couple of occasions they are excellent value.
They aren’t the cheapest, but they’re such good quality and it’s really useful to be able to select your own products knowing what you like. The French Quarter hampers are ideal as gifts, or even for yourself if you’re entertaining to get a selection of bits and nibbles in one place.

Phillips & Wilde
You’ll find Phillips & Wilde in the historic Grainger Market in the centre of Newcastle, and they have a selection of 7 hampers to choose from starting at £40. They do occasion hampers that are available year round including Valentine’s Hamper – ideal for date night, Christmas hampers, and then Gentleman’s hamper, cheese hamper, a Hello Gorgeous hamper, and a sweet treats hamper.

Fenwicks
Fenwicks food hall of course does beautiful hampers, often seasonal but they do have a big range of year round hampers too. Some are local products, but they tend to be more brand names like Daylesford, or Cartwright & Butler.
They still make lovely gifts and are available online and in store here.
Handmade Hampers
These guys are based in the North East and deliver their hampers all around Newcastle, but they actually say that a lot of their customers aren’t actually from the region. They’re a luxury gift hamper store and have hampers such as Champagne and Prosecco, Spirit Gifts, Wine and a full range of breakfast hampers available. Coastal Hamper
Coastal Hampers were created during the pandemic, by Sam Black who wanted to help local North East brands when they were forced to close their shops. He has grown it into an ongoing business, partnered with the NHS to give corporate hampers, and now has a big range of hampers filled with local products.
They’re filled with coffee, chocolate, prosecco, biscuits, fudge, jams, cheese and locally brewed beers and spirits. The hampers cover everything including a new home hamper, a North East treats hamper, and hampers for him and her to name just a few from the long list.

The Deli Around The Corner
Located in Tynemouth just around the corner from Front Street is ‘The Deli Around The Corner’, who sell all sorts of treats – preserves, coffee, chocolate, veg, cheese, pates etc. They can package their goods up into gift hampers too, including the Chocolate Delights, Italian Nibbles, and Port & Nibbles hampers.

The whole region of Northumberland have some really fabulous local brands and companies offering incredible food, treats and goods. You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to alcohol alone. Take a look at some of these local gift hampers and shops offering them.
The Northumbrian Hamper
This place is incredible, the store is located in Seahouses on the main street and they stock over 50 Northumbrian brands that can be made into hampers. As well as a big range of food gifts including shortbreads, cheeses, sweets, biscuits, chocolate and fudge, they also have local gifts and homeware too.
The shop is a treasure trove filled with them all, and it’s a lovely place to shop around for good local souvenirs or gifts. Make up your own hamper too, of whatever takes your fancy. It doesn’t look like you can order online, but they do show all of the brands they stock so you could always make up your own if you needed to and can’t visit the shop itself.

Morpeth Larder
The Morpeth Larder is a popular shop in Morpeth, and their hampers look fabulous. They’re made from the best selling products in store, and although they don’t come cheap they are huge. They’ve really catered for everyone with their different themes, including the Ladies or the Gentleman Wicker Hamper, a Night In for Him or Her hamper, and locally inspired Hadrian Hamper.

Corbridge Larder
The award winning Corbridge Larder is worth a visit to their deli and shop in Corbridge, but they also stock a big range of unique local gift hampers online.
