The NE1 Newcastle Motor Show
Yesterday I was up at the Newcastle Motor Show with work for a couple of hours, but once I’d finished I had a quick wander around myself. I don’t know the first thing about cars really, but it was good to see all sorts of different ones, from old school vintage, to seriously cool and very expensive! That’s literally the extent of my knowledge, but even as someone who knows nothing about them, I still enjoyed a walk around the event. There was a lot more going on than just the car displays though, so here’s what you can expect if you’re heading up to there this afternoon for day 2.
Lots of cars obviously, covering the length of Grey Street, around Monument and Northumberland Street too. The Newcastle Motor Show flags are everywhere so you know you’re in the right place.
It was pretty busy, especially around the Theatre Royal where the Bentley and Porsche stands were, but crowds filtered around each other to see everything so it wasn’t too bad.
Stunt displays and races in some of the closed off streets.
The screen on the green were showing various car films that you can watch, like Cars 2.
Metro Radio were half way down Grey Street blasting out tunes and running competitions.
Official sponsors DFDS were on Northumberland Street with offers, a ship photo booth and some giveaways.
Turns out Aveika have a whole fleet of fancy cars on display outside Osaka on Grey Street and their promo staff were running competitions.
There was an F1 simulator ride to go on.
And lots of cafes had outside seats and were serving cold drinks and snacks in the hot weather.
It was a really good atmosphere so if you’re heading into town today go check it out!
