Whether you’re planning to travel during peak holiday times or considering an off-season break, it’s worth taking the time to plan your visit to your dream destination. If you’re looking for inspiration for your travel bucket list, here are some ideas that might just make you want to get that trip booked.

New York

From classic films like When Harry Met Sally and Breakfast at Tiffany’s to sitcoms like Friends, it’s easy to feel like we know our way around New York. But there’s nothing like experiencing it first-hand. If you’ve not had a chance to head to the Big Apple, why not join the 32 million travellers making their way to an NYC airport this year?

There are iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, along with must-see sites like Carrie’s apartment from Sex and the City. You might want to take in a show on Broadway or take a walk through Central Park. This is definitely a city to tick off your travel bucket list.

Tokyo

Japan’s capital is a captivating mix of traditional culture and the latest tech innovations. With over 37 million people here, it is the world’s most populated city. It’s also known for being one of the safest.

For visitors, there’s plenty to discover, from the Ghibli Museum, which is a must for fans of Studio Ghibli films, to Golden Gai, which is a collection of small bars. For an awe-inspiring day trip, head to the Imperial Palace, an architectural delight that sits on the site of the original Edo-jō, the Tokugawa shogunate’s castle.

Antarctica

For something a little different, wrap up and head to Antarctica on a trip. This beautiful land of dazzling white icebergs and freezing waters makes for a truly enchanting getaway. Tours tend to take in the Antarctic Peninsula, travelling along the water and meandering around habitats for different wildlife including seals, penguins and seabirds.

If you’ve always longed to see what the southernmost point of the globe looks like, why not make the journey and see this captivating land up close?

Paris

The French capital is a dazzling mixture of high-end style, romantic culture and spectacular attractions. As well as the Eiffel Tower – a must for visitors – there’s the Arc de Triompheand the Louvre Museum, which is home to the Mona Lisa.

There’s also the dreamy Montmartre, where bohemian artists once gathered and where the cancan is still performed at the famous Moulin Rouge. Alternatively, you might want to see the city from a different perspective when you take a river cruise along the Seine. And if you’re a fan of Disney, Disneyland Paris is less than an hour away by train.
